Rhubarb and Custard

Frequently asked questions

What makes the R&C Pouch Sling unique?
The R&C Pouch Sling is straightforward to use, unlike other slings with straps and rings.
Made with only the highest quality fabrics, it is a simple tube of fabric that allows you
to carry your newborn, infant, or toddler with ease and comfort.

What is the weight limit?
18kg

Do I need a new R&C Pouch Sling as my baby grows?
No! What’s so wonderful about the pouch sling is that you can use the same sling from
the time your baby is born until he is a toddler. When baby is little you will wear him in
the cradle carry. As he grows you can wear him tummy to tummy, facing out, on your hip,
and then as a toddler on your back.

How do I breastfeed in the R&C Pouch Sling?
The cradle hold is the best breastfeeding position for a baby with your free arm to keep baby close to the breast. For privacy pull the sling fabric up over baby. If you are having difficulties breastfeeding baby whilst in the cradle position, try the ‘rugby ball hold’ position.

Can my husband wear the same sling?
The sling is fitted to the carrier, not the baby, so you and your husband/partner will only be able to wear the same if the two of you are the same measurement. Most often, you wil need two different sized slings.

Do you have sizes for plus-sized Moms?
Yes, We do have custom fitting. However, availability of fabric combinations will affect this.

How can I tell if my R&C Pouch Sling is too small or too big?
Once on, your pouch sling should be a reasonably loose fitting. You don't want to feel squashed and uncomfortable - that will most certainly be too small. On the other hand, the pouch sling should not be so loose that it continuously slips off your shoulder. That is almost a certain indication that the pouch sling is too big. If you are uncertain about your size, please contact us.

How do I wash my R&C Pouch Sling?
I would suggest machine washing on cold and line drying. Tumble drying will cause some shrinkage. However, should you find that you've perhaps lost a few pounds and your sling is feeling a little loose, you may tumble dry your sling for 15 minutes - you will get around 1-2 cm shrinkage. Line dry for the rest of the time.
